| It's been a long time |
[Oct. 22nd, 2008|01:26 pm] |
It has been so long since I've written in my journal. I feel now that for me to put something down it must be absolutely meaningful to me or to others. So, here goes.
I feel very spiritual today so my blog will express this. I've had so many countless dreams about the past and lives I've taken on. Just about any time period, I've dreamt it! This has led me to believe that my soul is timeless. It is interesting that my dreams and people I meet are somehow connected. I've felt this most of my life but have never expressed it. I was part of a writers group in Rhode Island. What led me there was a dream of me writing in time I've known in the past and so as I met these people I had already known them. Same thing with certain plays I've done. My dreams are a part of me in a way I've never realized. I dreamed I was once Ginger Rogers, Joan of Arc, an actor in the Renaissance period,Queen Elizabeth, Cleopatra, a Trojan woman in the Trojan war, an actor in the Victorian era, even Mary magdelin in the time of Christ! The list keeps going on and on! I dreamed I was several actrors from the early rennaissance all the way up to today! I even dreamed I lived in 1776 but not as an actor. Having had all these dreams about past lives I believe has made me who I am and a stronger person as well. So when you have dream of a past life treasure it! For it is a part of you!

| update |
[Jun. 4th, 2008|01:23 pm] |
I know it seems like I have disappeared off the face of the earth but the truth is I'm still here. I have just been very busy. The dinner theatre is over. The childrens theatre is also over, Yeah! I got so tired of singing my ass off for children. It gets old when you have been doing it for 8 freakin months! I got to admit. It was enjoyable at times. Now I am getting back into the realistic scene. Going to take classes over the fall. Recently did the AC summer auditions. Now I'm preparing for a fringe show! Yes, a fringe show! It is called Thousands of Years--Rome. I am playing the major role. Need to learn lines fast! Show goes up at the end of June. I play the part of Octavia. It is definitely an interesting concept. Octavia goes through life wanting love so bad but always ends up getting the boot or being left behind. Each time she is reincarnated into a different time hence (thousands of years) literally! Where the same thing happens to her each time. She meets a man, falls in love and gets the boot! I won't tell you the end. You'll just have to come and see!
Also recently did a staged reading of Maxim Gorky's The Lower Depths ( Russian play). Played Anna, a dying woman who was beat by her husband. Interesting and depressing. The funny thing was on stage I was supposed to die. People actually thought I was dead! The actors literally thought I was dead which helped with their characters. At half time when I got up, the audience went, "Ohh!" as if I was actually dead or something. I actually scared them out of their wits! Funniest thing I ever saw!
Just a little side story I thought might amuse.
Anyway, I am alive and well.

| update and happy new year! |
[Jan. 1st, 2008|04:15 pm] |
Still doing dinner theatre. Still doing childrens theatre although might not stay in childrens theatre for very long. Underpaid and not worth it! As for other endeavors, going to audition for the Virginia Shakespeare Festival. Also deciding on whether or not to audition for the National Players, that one is quite a commitment. At any rate I hope everyone is having a great New years and breaking the barriers!

[Nov. 2nd, 2007|11:32 am] |
My Mystery Dinner Theatre show opens tonight. My costume makes me look like a can can girl! Maybe I could use it to my advantage (tips!).Anyway, there is plenty of time to come on out and see the show. I will be in costume for several months it looks like. Thats good because it means money! So, when you get a chance come and see my show in DC! It is at the doubletree hotel right off of Army Navy Drive. Only five minutes away from the Pentagon. "Murder Rides Again!" Tickets can be purchased online at www.mysterydinnerplayhouse.com.

Now I need to know. Did any of you go to the field of screams and if so is it worth the money? I want to know from someone who has experience, before I decide to spend my money on something that might be crap. |

| Sundays adventures |
[Oct. 22nd, 2007|09:02 pm] |

Sunday I went to the Actors Expo with the Actors Center. The workshops were extremely interesting especially the marketing for the actor workshop. It opened my eyes. Got more monologue coaching which is always helpful. My favorite has to be the Micheal Chekhov workshop. I went through so many different emotions. I really didn't think I had that many emotions. Its amazing how one gesture can psychologically give you an emotion. During the earth exercise where we use our bodies to walk through clay which I have to say is very tiring! After that I kept the image in my mind and interacted with people. It's amazing the way I felt. I felt as if I received really bad news and took all my stuff out on people. I literally wanted people to get away from me. Weird. Fire was my favorite though. We imagined walking on hot coals and the energy went around the room. I screamed! I ran I did all of that and when it was time to keep the image in mind walking normally passion seemed to simmer underneath me and I felt a calm underlying sinister character coming out of me. Cool! Amazing because they actually work! Good tools for any actor to have. Try it! |
